The Core Properties tab displays panels such as Material Properties, Bundle Items, Notes, Components & Hierarchy, Stock Policy, and Relationships

Material Properties Panel

The Material Properties panels displays and manages information such as Material Type, Administration, Dosing, Approved Treatments, etc...

✏️Editing Material Properties

Material Properties can be updated at any time

🚧To update the Material Properties of a Material, please follow the steps below:

Start Edit Mode

The Edit Mode of Material Properties can be enabled at any time using the Edit button

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Material Properties:

  • Click the Edit button

Update the Material Type

The Material Type is the overall classification concept of this material.

This is used by decision support and business rules to understand the classification of the material

🚧To update the Material Type for the Material:

  • Click on the Material Type input.

  • ⭐Filter/Search available options (Optional)

  • Select an appropriate option

Flag/Unflag Material as Administrable

Is Administrable Indicates that the material can be administered to a patient or subject

Examples:

  • Enable for medications, vaccines, solutions, medical devices, etc.

  • Disable for syringes, pill bottles, containers, diluents, etc.

🚧To update the Is Administrable for the Material:

  • Check or Uncheck the Is Administrable checkbox

Update Official Name

The Official Name is the fully qualified name of the material as it appears in clinical documentation, regulations, product certifications, etc.

🚧To update the Official Name for the Material:

  • Enter a new Name into the Official Name input.

Update Common Name

The Common Name is the name by which the material is commonly known. This name is used if the material is commonly referred to by a shorter name.

🚧To update the Common Name for a Material:

  • Enter the Common Name in the Common Name input.

Update Form

The Form is the format in which the material is packaged or administered (such as injection, drops, etc.)

🚧To update the Form for the Material:

  • Click on the Form input

  • Search and select an appropriate option

Update Dose

The number and unit of one dose unit which represents one dose of the product

🚧To update the Dose for a Material:

Number of Unit

  • Click on the Number input

  • Update the number of one unit which represents one dose of the product


Unit

  • Click on the Unit input

  • Search and select an appropriate option

Update GS1 GTIN

The Identification relates to the GS1 GTIN of the Material

🚧To update the GS1 GTIN value for the Material:

  • Enter a new GS1 GTIN value into the GS1 GTIN input

Update Regulatory Body

The Regulatory Body is the body is in charge of this material, or should be notified for further investigation when safety concerns arise from use of the material

🚧To define the Regulatory Body for a Material:

  • Click on the Regulatory Body input

  • Search and select an appropriate Regulatory Body option

Update Approved Treatment

The Approved Treatment(s) is/are one or more conditions or problems that this material is used commonly to treat or prevent

🚧To define one or more Approved Treatment(s) for a Material:

  • Click on the Approved Treatment input

  • Search and select appropriate Approved Treatment options

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any of the fields in Material Properties will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Material Properties:

  • Click the Save button in the Material Properties header panel.


Bundle Items Panel

The Bundle Items panel displays and manages Materials bundled when using this selected Material.

➕Adding a Bundle Item

Bundle Items can be added for Material at any time

🚧To add a Bundled Item to a Material, please follow the steps below:

Start Edit Mode

The Edit Mode of Bundle Items can be enabled at any time using the Edit button

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Bundle Items:

  • Click the Edit button

Select a Material to Bundle

A Material to Bundle can be a syringe or other material that is usually provided with another Material

🚧To select a Material to bundle

  • Click on the Name input

  • Search and select an appropriate Material

Define Quantity of the Material

The Quantity is the amount of a Material that will bundled with one Dose of another Material

🚧To update the Quantity of the Dose for a Material

  • Click on the Quantity input

  • Update the Quantity

Add Material

In this step, the Material will be added as a Bundle Item with another Material once the Add button is clicked

🚧To add the Bundle Item to a Material

  • Click the Add button in the Actions Column

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Bundle Items will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Bundle Items:

  • Click the Save button in the Bundle Items header panel.

Update the Quantity of a Bundle Item

The Quantity is the amount of a Material that will bundled with one Dose of another Material

🚧To update the Quantity of the Dose for a Material

  • Click on the Quantity input

  • Update the Quantity

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Bundle Items will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Bundle Items:

  • Click the Save button in the Bundle Items header panel.

❌Removing a Bundle Item

Bundle Items can be removed for Material at any time

🚧To remove a Bundle Items from a Material, please follow the steps below:

Start Edit Mode

The Edit Mode of Bundle Items can be enabled at any time using the Edit button

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Bundle Items:

  • Click the Edit button

Remove Item

Removing an Item will remove the association and further prevent these Materials from being bundled together

🚧To remove a Bundle Item from a Material

  • Determine which Material is to be removed

  • Click the Remove button

  • Verify that the Material is no longer present in the Materials Table

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Notes will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Notes:

  • Click the Save button in the Material Properties header panel.


Notes Panel

The Notes panel displays and managed notes associated with this Material

Notes can be managed for Material at any time

🚧To update Notes for a Material, please follow the steps below:

Enable Editing of Note

Editing a Note for a Material can be done by entering Edit Mode

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Notes of a Material:

  • Click on the Edit button in the Notes panel header

Update the Note

The Note is something that can be referenced when associating with this Material

🚧To update the Notes for a Material:

  • Update the Note by entering it into the Note input

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Notes will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Notes:

  • Click the Save button in the Notes header panel.


Components & Hierarchy Panel

The Components & Hierarchy panel displays and manages composition and hierarchy of a Material. (e.g. Parent and Has Parts)

The Parent can be managed for Material at any time

🚧To update the Parent for a Material, please follow the steps below:

Enable Editing of Components & Hierarchy

Editing Components & Hierarchy for a Material can be done by entering Edit Mode

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Components & Hierarchy of a Material:

  • Click on the Edit button in the Components & Hierarchy panel header

Update the Parent

A Parent is another material If this material is a subclass of another material — this would be the parent material. (e.g. an mRNA COVID vaccine IS A COVID vaccine — This would be the COVID vaccine)

🚧To define the Parent of the Material:

  • Click on the Parent input

  • Search and select an appropriate option

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Components & Hierarchy will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Components & Hierarchy:

  • Click the Save button in the Components & Hierarchy header panel.

✏️Editing Has Parts

The Parts composed with a Material can be managed at any time

🚧To update the Parts composed with a Material, please follow the steps below:

Enable Editing of Components & Hierarchy

Editing Components & Hierarchy for a Material can be done by entering Edit Mode

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Components & Hierarchy of a Material:

  • Click on the Edit button in the Components & Hierarchy panel header

Update Has Parts

Has Parts is used if this material is composed of multiple attributes of other materials, then the parts should be listed here. (e.g. a MMRV vaccination material may have parts consisting of a Varicella, Measles, Rubella and Mumps materials)

🚧To update other Composed Materials of a Material:

  • Click on the Has Parts input

  • Search and select appropriate options

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Components & Hierarchy will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Components & Hierarchy:

  • Click the Save button in the Components & Hierarchy header panel.


History Panel

The History panel displays historical information related to this Material

This panel is useful if you need to track changes to Material over time and know what was updated and who updated it.


Stock Policy Panel

The Stock Policy panel displays and manages special instructions related to Stock Policies for a material, such as:

  • whether partial vials can be returned to the fridge

  • whether the material must be discarded once opened,

  • etc...

The Stock Policy for a Material can be managed at any time

🚧To update the Stock Policy for a Material, please follow the steps below:

Enable Editing of Stock Policy

Editing Stock Policy for a Material can be done by entering Edit Mode

🚧To enable Edit Mode for Stock Policy of a Material:

  • Click on the Edit button in the Stock Policy panel header

⭐Update Use Within (Optional)

When enabled, the IIS will warn users whenever this material has been issued and the entered timespan has expired


Disable Use Within

❌To disable Use Within for this Material:

  • Uncheck the Checkbox to disable Use Within


Enable Use Within

✅To enable Use Within for this Material:

  • Check the Checkbox to enable Use Within

  • Enter a hour value into the Hour input

⭐Flag Partial Vials/Boxes/Etc.. (Optional)

Don't allow partial vials to be held by a Stock Store

When enabled, clinics will be NOT br permitted to keep, adjust, and change the stock item such that their stock store has partial units

Allow Partial Vials/Boxes/Etc... to be Held by the Stock Store

❌To disable Preventing Partial vials from being held by the Stock Store for a Material

  • Uncheck the Checkbox for Don't allow partial viles/boxes/etc...

⭐Flag Open Products Returned to Stock Store (Optional)

Don't allow open products to be returned to the stock store

When enabled, the IIS will prevent the return of partial vials and/or opened stock to be returned to the stock store at the conclusion of the session

  • Uncheck the Checkbox for Don't allow open products to be returned to the stock store

Save Changes

In this step, all changes to any to any fields in Stock Policy will be submitted and saved

🚧To save any changes to Stock Policy:

  • Click the Save button in the Stock Policy header panel.


Relationships Panel

The Relationships panel displays entities that relate to the Material. This will also visually reveal hierarchies and relationships.


Relationship Controls

The Relationships panel will allow changing the view mode and printing the current diagram.

View Mode

The View Mode allows changing the type of relationship algorithm

The Relationships Graph displays the relationships that the Material currently has with other Materials
