Locking a User account

In some cases, a User may have there accounts locked.

Use Case

This can happen for a few reasons:

  1. 🔢The User entered their credentials incorrectly too many times

  2. 😈The User account has become compromised

  3. 📅The User account might become expired

💼In any case, User accounts have the ability to be locked or unlocked

🔒When a User account becomes locked, that User may not authenticate with the system.

🟰Therefore, that account will not be able to login and perform normal operations within the system

🚧To lock an account, simply follow the steps below:

Navigate to the Security → Users view

Locate the User in the Users Table

Searching for the User

Searching for a user can be done, by:

  • 👀manually finding the record, or

  • 🔍using the search field (top right-hand corner of the table).

Click the Lock button in the Actions column

Verify that the Unlock button is present in the User's table record

🔓When a User account becomes unlocked (i.e. Locked ...), that User may authenticate and perform normal operation within the system.

🚧To Unlock an account, simply follow the steps below:

Navigate to the Security->Users view.
