Back-Entry Workflow

Purpose
The Back-Entry Panel is used to record or review services provided in the past. It ensures that vaccines, growth measurements, supplements, conditions, and other events are documented even if they were not entered at the time of service.
Back-Entry is available in every visit type.
Use Back-Entry for historical data entry.
Use Performing Today for services performed on the current date.
Navigation
Back-Entry can be accessed in two ways during any patient visit:
Back-Entry Tab
Open the patient record and start a visit.
Switch to the Back-Entry tab to review and complete past scheduled services.
Performing Today → Add → Back-Enter
While documenting the current visit, staff can use Add → [Service] → Back-Enter to record a historical service that wasn’t pre-listed.

Summary
The Back-Entry Panel & Actions allow staff to:
Enter or confirm vaccines, growth measures, supplements, and conditions recorded in the past
Ensure accurate clinical history even when data entry is delayed
Correct records with undo or remove options
Add other past events (e.g., AEFI, death reports, pregnancy, allergies, disability)
By using Back-Entry, staff ensure the IIS contains a complete and accurate record of patient services, regardless of when they were entered.
➡️ For services performed on the current date, always use the Performing Today panel.
