Background Jobs

Purpose

The Background Jobs panel shows system processes that run automatically, such as data refreshes, backups, and patient matching checks. Clinical staff can view these jobs to confirm their status, last run time, and whether they completed successfully.


From the sidebar, expand System and select Background Jobs.


Viewing Jobs

The jobs panel lists all background jobs for the clinic’s system. Each row shows:

Example

Name

The job’s name and description

“Background Matching Job for Patient”

Schedule / Repeat

How often the job is set to run

“Mo–Su @ 20:00”

Current State

The job’s status (Complete, Running, Not Yet Run, etc.)

“Complete”

Last Run

The date and time the job last finished

“2025-09-09 20:05:58”


Current State

The Current State column shows whether the job ran successfully:

Running

The job is currently executing in the background

Not Yet Run

The job has not been run before

Complete

The job finished successfully

Cancelled

The job was stopped before completion

Aborted

The job started but stopped due to an error


Actions Column

The Actions column buttons each perform the following:

Run the job immediately

Schedule

Modify or set the job's schedule

Cancel

(If supported) Send a cancellation request to the job

The jobs panel summary shows the list of jobs registered on the dCDR or iCDR.
